On May 30th, a trio of Rangers (Jim, Kyle and John S) made their way to a very special weekend outing. Leaving FCM at the break of sunrise, the pilots flew N2108Q directly to Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD. They enjoyed a rare chance to land a general aviation aircraft at a military base and the crew spent the afternoon enjoying Dakota Thunder 2009. Amoung the highlights were a low flying demostration of the B1 bomber and a precison airshow from the USAF Thunderbirds. On the return trip, the group also flew over Mt Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument before returning back to Flying Cloud just after sunset.
The Rangers have a full summer schedule of fly-in events planned. Stay tuned for more pilot reports!
